Solution for PT6 lagging or freezing on Browsers

If PT6 is lagging or freezing when you use it, you may follow the steps below.

  1. Clear the browser’s cache & cookies.

  2. Enable Hardware-acceleration.

  3. Switch the browser’s graphics settings to high-performance modes.

  4. Update the browser or change to another browser.

  5. Reinstall the browser.

Troubleshooting steps

The troubleshooting steps appear below. 

  1. Clear the browser’s cache & cookies.

You can often resolve inconsistencies in an app's behavior by clearing its cache & cookies.

Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Enable Hardware-acceleration for Browsers.

You can enable hardware acceleration for your Browsers to help improve application performance.

Google Chrome:

Go to chrome://settings/system

Toggle the "Use hardware acceleration when available" setting to the "On" position. Then, click "Relaunch" to apply the change.

Microsoft Edge:

Go to edge://settings/system

Toggle the "Use hardware acceleration when available" setting to the "On" position. Then, click "Relaunch" to apply the change.

  1. Enable Hardware-acceleration for Windows.

You can also enable hardware acceleration for Windows 10 & 11 users (with dedicated GPU) will help you reduce CPU utilization, input lag and lower your CPU temperature, and increase the application’s performance.

Windows 11:

Hold the “Windows” button and press “I” to open the “Settings” app.
Scroll down to “Related Settings” and click on “Graphics.”
Click the “Change Default Graphics Settings” link.
Switch the toggle underneath “Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling” to “On” and click “Yes” in the prompt.

Close the “Settings” app and restart your PC.

Windows 10:

Hold the “Windows” button and press “I” to open the “Settings” app.
Under the “Multiple displays” section, click the “Graphics settings” option.
Switch the toggle underneath “Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling” to “On”.
  1. Switch the browser’s graphics settings to high-performance modes.

Next, you can also try switching your browser to “High-performance” mode for Windows users (with dedicated GPU).

Under the “Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling” section,
Click the drop-down button under “Choose an app to set preference” and Select “Desktop app”.
Click the “Browse“ button and Select the “Browser App”, example path: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
Click the “Options” button.
Set the graphics preference to “High performance” and click “Save”.
  1. Update the browser or change to another browser.

If the steps above do not resolve the issues, then check for any available updates for the browsers. Browser updates can often resolve the causes of the applications crashing or freezing.

  1. Reinstall the browser.

Save the progress on the browser.
Uninstall the browser.
Reinstall the browser.
